Governor Fubara Meets with President Tinubu in Private Discussion at Aso Villa

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State is currently in a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Fubara arrived at the Presidential Villa on Thursday evening and proceeded directly to the President's office for the private discussion.

This meeting is part of a series of discussions between Fubara and Tinubu, especially since the ongoing dispute with his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, who currently serves as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In a previous meeting at Aso Rock, Governor Fubara signed an 8-point agreement aimed at resolving the ongoing disagreement with Wike. However, the situation remains unresolved.

After signing the agreement, Fubara introduced a live band performance, a unique style reminiscent of his predecessor. The song titled "Dey your dey" went viral, conveying a message of maintaining boundaries and respect in the relationship between Fubara and Wike.

The song sends a clear signal to Wike's camp to stay within their limits while Fubara does the same.

Days after releasing the song, Governor Fubara attended a crossover church service at the Saint Paul Archdeaconry Parish in Opobo town, Opobo/Nkoro Local Government Area. During the service, he remarked, "What they want is this red biro, but it is still with me. We are the winners because we are still signing with the red biro. As long as we are signing with the red biro, development will continue in Rivers State."

Observers interpret this statement as a subtle mockery of Wike, even though the governor did not directly mention his predecessor's name.

In response, Wike, without explicitly mentioning Fubara's name, commented at a gathering, stating, "We will soon know who is in charge."
