The Henley Passport Index recently released the latest ranking of the most powerful passports in the world. This global passport-ranking website assesses passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. The index, backed by data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and Henley & Partners' research team, positioned Nigeria at 95th out of 104 countries with the most powerful passports.
Nigeria is ranked behind countries such as Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Lesotho, Morocco, Benin Republic, and Namibia, which are at 76th, 83rd, 67th, 65th, 71st, 79th, and 65th positions, respectively.
Despite the ranking, the index reveals that Nigerians can now travel to approximately 45 visa-free countries with their passports. Here is the full list:
