The government is looking into a serious issue at Obafemi Awolowo University in Osun State, where workers have not been paid their salaries. The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Ali Pate, has taken action by creating a Joint Action Committee to investigate.

Patricia Deworitshe, the Director of Media and Public Relations at the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, shared this news in a statement. The statement explained that the government is aware of the ongoing problem at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital (OAUTH) regarding unpaid staff salaries. Following the directive of the Coordinating Minister, Muhammad Ali Pate, a committee has been formed to look into the matter.

The statement assured that the committee's findings will be made public within the next 10 days, along with clear recommendations on how to fairly resolve the salary issue. The government expressed concern for the affected individuals and urged patience, emphasizing their commitment to resolving the matter justly and preventing similar situations in the future.

In November, it was reported that some medical workers at OAUTH had raised concerns about not being paid for 10 months. They criticized the management for putting them in a difficult financial situation.
